A useful fit for

A source-supported trail-style half-shell for adults considering fire roads and singletrack, with Giro's Universal Adult circumference chart at 54–61 cm, integrated Mips and Roc Loc Sport adjustment. The chart is not an individual fit result.

The main tradeoff

Its exact US page lists CE EN 1078 and 330 g in UA but not US CPSC compliance; the hard CPSC filter therefore fails closed. The one-size shell and generic chart do not establish head shape, and the manufacturer gives no exact vent count or Spherical design.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Does the Fixture Mips II product page support trail riding?

Yes. Giro describes mountain-bike styling for fire-road adventures and singletrack. The assessment uses that exact activity statement; it does not infer suitability for every mountain-bike discipline or impact scenario.

What size range does Giro list for the adult UA version?

The general bicycle chart maps Universal Adult to 54–61 cm, while the exact Fixture version is labeled UA. Measure carefully and try the actual helmet according to Giro's fitting instructions; circumference alone does not establish a secure fit.

Does the exact US Fixture Mips II page confirm CPSC compliance?

No CPSC statement appears in the exact style-017 page's certification panel; it lists CE EN 1078 and 330 g for size UA. Treat CPSC status as unknown and inspect the exact helmet marking and current documents before purchase or use.

Giro’s adult Fixture Mips II is a trail-style half-shell whose exact US page is unusually clear about its intended terrain: fire roads and singletrack. This matters because the Fixture name also appears on distinct youth, women’s and XL listings. The review here concerns US style 100000002400000017, the observed Matte Titanium / UA option, SKU GR-7202103. It does not merge the adult model with the youth Fixture MIPS II or claim that a universal size will fit every rider.

Use language and shell form

Giro calls the helmet mountain-bike styling at a value price and says it is intended for fire-road adventures and swooping singletrack. Its page also says it may be used for a relaxed spin. That supports a trail activity tag in this guide, but it does not establish suitability for every form of mountain biking or an e-bike standard. The model is an open half-shell, not a full-face helmet; a visor, Mips layer or MTB label cannot stand in for a separately documented full-face design.

The page describes an updated silhouette, quick-dry padding and improved cooling power, but does not publish an exact vent count. The stated 330 g weight is for size UA. It is a manufacturer-listed value, not an independent weighing or comparative test, and should not be repurposed as a CPSC-medium weight.

One UA fit and one Mips design

The observed version is Universal Adult. Giro’s general bicycle size chart places that range at 54–61 cm. As with any chart, the number only identifies a size interval to investigate. It does not say whether the internal shape matches a rider’s head or whether the helmet will sit low, level and secure. Try the exact shell on and adjust the retention and straps according to the supplied instructions.

Fixture Mips II uses Giro’s integrated Mips brain-protection system and Roc Loc Sport. Giro describes one-handed adjustment over a 7 cm range. That is the fit system’s adjustment travel, not an extension to the size chart. The page explains the manufacturer’s stated goal of reducing rotational forces in certain impacts; it gives no model-specific crash-outcome guarantee.

Certification wording should not be borrowed

The exact US style-017 page lists CE EN 1078 and 330 g in UA, but no US CPSC compliance statement in the captured certification block. The model therefore does not pass this site’s CPSC-required filter. That is deliberately fail-closed: a different Fixture edition or a general US catalog location cannot supply missing field evidence for this style. It also does not prove that a particular physical helmet is non-compliant; check the label and current manufacturer documents on the exact unit.

When comparing with Fixture MIPS II Youth, do not borrow the youth version’s age-specific size chart or product-page wording. The youth style is a separately documented model and fit configuration. The adult review uses only the adult UA size and the adult page’s own trail statement.

What the design does and does not establish

The product page presents a redesigned Mips integration, an in-mold shell construction and a Roc Loc Sport dial. These features describe design choices; they do not show independent impact performance or guarantee that Mips will change an outcome in a given crash. The page does not label this version Spherical, so it should not be selected for a Spherical/Mips preference. A Mips label alone is not enough to satisfy that narrower request.

Its fit and cooling evidence is also limited. Universal Fit is a manufacturer sizing approach, not proof that the helmet fits a specific person on the first try. “Improved cooling” is not a measured comparison, and 330 g does not tell us how it feels on the rider. A useful try-on checks forehead coverage, level position, stability when the retention dial is adjusted and whether the chin strap can be fitted properly.

Compare the right Fixture and the right alternatives

For trail use at 57 cm, the adult Fixture and the youth Fixture are not substitutes even if a single number appears inside both models’ chart intervals. Rider category, shell geometry and age-specific instructions differ; choose the configuration appropriate to the rider, then verify the exact fit. Adult trail alternatives such as Montaro MIPS III and Montaro Pro list different features and different standard statements. Montaro III explicitly states CPSC and NTA 8776 on its page; Montaro Pro describes Spherical/Mips but lacks the same captured CPSC statement. Those records should be weighed on their own evidence, not folded into a generic Mips ranking.

Shortlist judgment

The Fixture Mips II merits consideration for an adult whose trail riding is within Giro’s stated fire-road/singletrack use, whose measured circumference falls in the 54–61 cm UA guide and who wants a dial-adjustable integrated-Mips half-shell with a visor. Its key limitation for this site’s matching is the absent CPSC statement, alongside no documented head shape or exact vent count. Before choosing a retailer offer, confirm style 017, size and color; inspect the physical marking; check what the package includes; and read the return terms in case the universal size does not fit. This is a researched assessment, not a personal ride review.
